Rabbis are not psychotherapists, and psychotherapists are not rabbis.
This crime reflects there still is a divorce between the rabbinical world, and the world of mental health. Rabbis are responsible to advise all as to the practice of mitzvos, meta-structures in the political, social, and behavioral world. Psychotherapists are to ensure the harmonious interplay of All these elements in ones Personal Paradigm, whose center is the One life. It is imperative they work together, or a rabbi is learned in the field of psychology,
The only way to understand this dark criminal's pathology is that through a therapeutic paradigm. The killer has a treturous hatred toward his own self. It is a self wrought with treturous conflicts and unresolved crises building and beating upon one another. Initial failure resolving crisis, fueld by bulllying and victimization, then consequently arrested, was when he was about 8 years old. The build up of psychological tar as he got older failing to pass adolescence and adulthood, made more complex by other stages, could only result in an outbreak, an outer manifestation of his fragmented experience of himself within. It must have been stimulated somehow. HOWEVER, his behavior, his act, was a learnt behavior he picked up through observation. Either in the environment or deep in his DNA.

Its difficult overcoming the disturbed violence emanated from the Orthodox Community. Either Rabbis, teachers, or parents fail delivering love & tolerance for personal diversity, (in whatever shape or form, in schools or at home, putting an end to bullying), or the love simply doesn't exist there. If its ideology preaches suppression, oppression, that in the minds of some leads to suicide or homicide, then it must be dispelled as any other religion that does the same.

We must work hard to educate, to love, to embrace, and we will surely see an end to crime, and even to war.
